The Institute of Linguistics of the University of Silesia, the only university department in Poland offering translation study programs with Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and languages of India, is pleased to announce

THE ORIENTAL MEETINGS IN SOSNOWIEC
(SOSNOWIECKIE SPOTKANIA ORIENTALISTYCZNE)

An interdisciplinary academic conference promoting intercultural dialogue addressed to young scholars, including postgraduate and graduate students, whose research interests focus on the languages, literature and cultures of Oriental countries, especially Arabic-speaking countries, Central Asian countries, China, Japan and India.
The conference will explore a wide spectrum of topics ranging from the ancient civilizations to the present-day cultures and languages of these regions
in all their richness and diversity.


Venue: The Institute of Linguistics, ul. Grota Roweckiego 5, 41-205 Sosnowiec, Poland.
Conference languages: English.
Paper presentations: 20 minutes for the presentation plus 10 minutes for the discussion.
Abstract submission: Abstracts (not longer than 250 words, Times New Roman, 12 pts) should be submitted in the PDF or Word format to omis2020us@gmail.com by 7.02.2020 along with filled registration forms. The body of the email should contain the author’s first name and surname, affiliation and the title of the presentation.
Paper acceptance notification: by 9.02.2020.
Conference fee: 200 PLN/47 EUR (150 PLN/35 EUR for students) to cover the cost of conference materials, coffee breaks, the conference dinner) should be paid by 14.02.2020.
Travel and accommodation: The costs to be covered by the participants.
