The Oriental Meetings In Sosnowiec
(Sosnowieckie Spotkania Orientalistyczne)

Sosnowiec, 2-3.12.2015

An interdisciplinary academic conference promoting intercultural dialogue, addressed to young scholars, including postgraduate and graduate students, whose research interests focus on the languages, literatures and cultures of Oriental countries, especially Arabic-speaking countries, China, Japan and India. The conference will explore a wide spectrum of topics ranging from the ancient civilisations to the present-day cultures and languages of these regions in all their richness and diversity.

We are planning a peer-reviewed publication of conference papers.

Venue: Modern Languages Centre, ul. Grota Roweckiego 5, 41-205 Sosnowiec, Poland
Conference languages: English and Polish
Paper presentations: 20 minutes for the presentation plus 10 minutes for the discussion

Abstract submission: Abstracts (not longer than 250 words, Times New Roman, 12 pts) should be submitted in the PDF or Word format to omis2015us@gmail.com by 10.10.2015. The body of the email should contain the author’s first name and surname, affiliation and the title of the presentation.
Paper acceptance notification: by 20.10.2015
Registration: by 03.11.2015 (Registration form to be downloaded from the webpage)
Conference fee: 300 PLN/75 EUR (180 PLN/45 EUR for postgraduate and graduate students) to cover the cost of conference materials, coffee breaks, two lunches, the conference dinner and the subsequent publication of selected articles in a reviewed volume
Travel and accommodation: The costs to be covered by the participants (for details see our webpage)
